Real Marketing Solutions (RMS) has a job opening for a contract social media manager. RMS is a digital marketing agency specializing in helping businesses create and deploy content and strategies across all digital marketing platforms. Our team assists with social media marketing, SEO strategy, paid digital, email and text campaigns, media buys, and more! We are looking for our next team member to join our team of digital marketing pros.

The RMS agency operates as an entirely virtual company. Applicants must work well in a virtual environment, have excellent time-management skills, and be self-starters.

This position is 10-15 hours per week and contract work. 


The RMS social media manager is responsible for creating and managing content across multiple social media platforms. This position is responsible for writing engaging copy for posts; creating and editing videos, Stories, Reels, and TikTok videos; designing graphics; scheduling content in Buffer and Sprout; and manual posting when applicable. Social media managers are also responsible for advising on strategy; managing follower growth; engaging with DMs, comments and replies; and keeping social media content current with best practices for engagement.

The social media manager must be good at time management, be able to project manage their scope of work in Trello, meet with clients via Zoom when asked, and be available to communicate with clients and RMS team members on Pacific standard time.

  • Are you an experienced social media manager with a portfolio of work that can be provided at the time of application?
  • Are you knowledgeable of best practices, current content strategies, and content trends across social media platforms?
  • Can you produce engaging copy and creative?
  • Are you experienced in creating and editing video content for Stories, Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts? (You will not be required to be in the videos.)
  • Do you have basic to intermediate video editing skills to assist with editing of client content?
  • Can you work between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. PST Monday through Friday?
  • Are you a self-starter with good time-management skills who can work effectively and efficiently in a virtual environment?

Social Media Manager requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a social media manager
  • Experience creating strong, engaging content
  • A portfolio of applicable work that showcases social media skill sets
  • Excellent research, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • The capacity to work independently or collaboratively
  • The ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy

Salary: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
